About Friends with Food
As healthy, active people with athletic backgrounds, we found ourselves at odds with the time we spent in the gym to achieve our goals and the responsibilities of being working parents. We often wondered how much more it would take to match our performance and appearance with the effort we put forth in the gym. This is when we started to explore the world of nutrition.
After many attempts, we found success with counting macros. The results were incredible, but the meticulous nature of counting and tracking was not a long-term solution for our busy lives. We got burned out, placed too much value on weight, developed bad habits and couldn’t sustain our results. We needed something more realistic, simple and aligned with our busy lifestyle...but also something that allowed us to live life (cocktails!) and enjoy food (ice cream!!).
The exploration continued and the fruits of our labor became the foundation of Friends with Food. We learned that nutrition doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming and you don’t need to live in the gym to be strong, lean and at peace with your body. We aim to help people realize this for themselves (without all the struggle) and come to lead healthier, more active and vibrant lives.
